This is one of those towns that the more you visit it, the more you like it.  It is an affluent mountain town, 30 minutes  SouthWest of Asheville, and is packed with history.....Picnic in the Pisgah Natonal Forest, hike tons of trails in the Pisgah National Forest, "do" Sliding Rock, natures original water slide/plunge pool (just butch up and do it....you will remember this event forever), fly fish the Davidson River (ranked as one of Trout Unlimited's top 100 trout streams in North America) walk downtown and visit restaurants and shops of all type.  Favorite restaurant for me........... Square Root.  Call ahead; this restaurant is always busy, but worth it. So there you have it; another "what to do now that you are here" from a Local.
